Teeth Whitening and Veneers
Professional Teeth Whitening in Grand Rapids, MI
American Dental Care provides fast and effective teeth whitening in South East Grand Rapids. Because Dr. Hany Boulos believes that everyone deserves a bright and beautiful smile, he offers both in-office whitening treatment and a choice of ZOOM® or Opalescence® professional strength take-home tray systems. These professional methods of whitening your teeth can lift several shades of staining from your smile quickly and with little or no sensitivity.
Why Consider Professional Teeth Whitening
Even with the best dental hygiene habits, consuming beverages like coffee, tea, and wine or using tobacco products inevitably have an impact on the brightness of our smile. This can lead you to hide your smile and avoid expressing yourself openly.
When you need a boost of self-confidence, this can be a great time for teeth whitening. Other popular reasons to whiten include:
- Photo Sessions
- Job Interviews
- Before Receiving Porcelain Restorations
How does Teeth Whitening Work?
Whitening works best right after a routine dental cleaning. When receiving chairside treatment, Dr. Boulos prepares you by covering your lips and gums and then applies the special whitening gel. This process will be repeated and if you choose ZOOM whitening, a special light will be used to activate the gel.
For take-home whitening, an impression of your teeth is obtained to create custom trays that you wear according to the instructions – 15 to 30 minutes daily in some cases, and overnight in others. Within two weeks you will have a noticeably brighter smile.
When you whiten your teeth at our South East Grand Rapids dental office, you have the option of having custom take-home trays made to use with either of our home whitening treatments, so that you can ensure your bright smile lasts.
When are Veneers a Better Option?
If you have intrinsically stained teeth, that is discoloration due to medications, illness, or genetic causes, teeth whitening will be less effective than veneers. In addition to brightening teeth, we treat patients in South East Grand Rapids with veneers to address several flaws that can detract from their smiles.
What are Veneers?
Conventional porcelain veneers are thin pieces of porcelain that fit over the front of your natural teeth after they’ve been prepared by modifying the enamel for a secure hold. Dr. Boulos offers both conventional porcelain veneers as well as Lumineers® which require little or no preparation of existing teeth. After obtaining an impression of your teeth, our lab will fabricate your veneers and send them to our South East Grand Rapids dental office.
Veneers can transform smiles that have stains, gaps, chips, small cracks, and mild misalignment issues in as little as two weeks from your first visit.
